I have been driving just over 3 yrs now. First with USF Glen Moore ( 1yr 5 mths ). Now with a local company 2 1/2 years. Debating going back over the road only because there are not to many local jobs where I am in MA. Clean record. No points, tickets, DUI's, or accidents. Only issues I have is I don't want to run the north west, Canada, or Mexico. Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly helpful.
Looking for a good otr company

Check with Holland Enterprises. By the website they don't mention any runs to Canada or Mexico. Maybe work out something about the Northwest. Trucks equipped with Tri-Pac APU's.
From the website:
"Major traffic lanes include West Coast, Pacific Northwest, Midwest, Northeast, Mid Atlantic, Georgia, Texas, Arizona, Nevada, Utah and Colorado. We transport a substantial amount of business from coast to coast. Our average length of haul is 1450 miles."balizar Thanks this. -
There are many of the larger companies that have regional divisions as well as OTR or that operate as completely regional. I currently run in the midwest region. Although I make runs as far as TX, FL and PA, generally I run KS, MO, IN, IL, OH, AR, MN, OK, TN, KY and WI. Each company's breakdown of regions varies of course. You can always check with companies that run OTR if you have the option to stick to certain regions. Running regional, I get home every other weekend and sometimes stay out 3 weeks at my choice. A simple google search for 'regional trucking companies' brings up a slew of options.

I'm just guessing/assuming, but since Holland Enterprises hires drivers in the Northwest, maybe those runs go to them to get them in the area for home time. I've read a little about the company from other drivers and they make $60K+ annually and have rider & pet policy.
