Hello everyone, I am looking for a route from Ohio to New York (NYC area). I just got my cdl A about 6 months ago and I have had my cdl B for 7 years. I am experienced with driving and operating most trucks (concrete trucks, oil, diesel, roll off, dump, crane trucks) But not really experienced in the 40-foot trailer hauling (only to get my A license). I can say I am used to driving with 80,000 pounds or over my entire experience. I am originally from New York and I am just in Ohio trying things out over here to see if it is livable being far away from family that needs my help. I am looking for something once a week and every other weekend for a weekend in New York. I am also asking advice on what to do, my friends are saying just to get my own truck and do an Ohio Chicago run but, I also would want to be taking a load to New York. I am having to drive my car there every other weekend and I just see it as a waste. My friends are saying for me to get my own truck but I look into renting and I don't know if it is profitable or is it best to just stay with a local job? If the money is as good renting a truck and taking loads back and forth. Is this just listening to what others say? or is it worth it? I even am trying to find someone local that will let me drive once a week to go out there and every other weekend. Just please any advice would help, Thank you all!

I work for J Rayl Transport, they’re based in Akron. You might want to call them up and see if you can get something that works for you.
