looking for belly dump work for 2013 northdakota

I have a truck and belly dump trailer, I want to get into doing road construction projects. road construction wont start for another 1.5-2 months up here but im starting to talk with a few company's kinda try to get my name out there a bit. I talked to a company today that got my interest a bit, found them threw a creigs list ad.

company is out of south Dakota. basically a brokerage company that works with several of the big guys 100% road construction no oilfeild (this is a plus to me) the idea of working for someone that contracts for several of the bigger company's seems like a plus for steady work. they pay every 2 weeks with a quick pay option for 2% pays next day. although i have 60 days operating expense the quick pay seems like a good way to make sure the checks are good quickly vrs running for a company for 30-60 days only to never get paid. they claim they ran 20 trucks last year and looking to up it to 30 this year. they also contract with company's in tx if i wanted to go down there next winter. they have there own operating authority that i can use or i can use my own, as i already have my own i would run under my own. seems how i have not done much belly dump work out here, bought my trailer last fall and have only used it for a few small projects for some people i know. so this may also be a good way to learn more about who is who and who the better contractors are. I work for a water hauling company driving one of there trucks right now.

now that we have covered what i see as advantages to a company like this now for the bad. they charge 10% of what they get from the company's that they contract for. is the advantages worth 10% vrs contracting directly with 1 of the larger company's.

they claim they are having new contracts drawn up for 2013 and will send me the contracts soon. so i should have a chance to review the contract soon. witch will be part of my decision as well.

what are your thoughts of a company like described vrs directly contracting with one of larger company's (ex. knife river, strata, border states ect)
