I am presently leased to a small company in Missouri, and it is looking like they will be losing their authority next week -- their present insurance company has "Non-Renewed" them, and they cannot find another company at anywhere near a decent premium (with a 60% equipment OOS rate on SAFER, it's not surprising).
Here is the rub, though -- I have been pulling a step-deck of theirs, but my own trailer (a 2+2+2 with power tower jeep, 60-ton) is sitting in Missouri, and I live in Oregon (where I am at now). So the question of how I get their trailer back to them & pick up my own trailer is now a pressing issue.
I am hoping that some of you guys & gals might know of a heavy-haul company that will accept older iron -- my tractor is a '94 Pete 377 set up for heavy-haul, and my trailer is a '93 Kalyn-Seibert -- both in excellent condition & well maintained. I will not consider any Bridgeway company, though, since they have a bunch of FrieghtGard reports for double-brokering & back-solicitation.
If I could find a new company to lease my equipment to, the first load would have to be to Missouri; once I returned the step-deck & retrieved my own equipment, I would be open to any other heavy-haul freight the company may have (depending on rate, etc).
