Hi everyone, I'm from Serbia and I started looking for a job in Canada few weeks ago and simply can't find anything. I contacted over 250 companies by email and around 500 on a job hunting website and all for nothing. Does anyone know a company that hires foreign truck drivers? Please help!!

In your poll, you forgot the "I don't give a ####, one way or the other" option.

There are a number of companies that do, large and small, but most only hire from places like Asia now, it seems(Pakistan and India).

NOBODY in Canada is going to hire you if you are currently living in Serbia

You will have better luck trying the construction or oil industry. But I think you need someone to sponsor you. Do you know anyone in Alberta, or Canada for that matter? Once you are in Canada you can quite easily move to Canada. But remember, Canada is is a large country. 7000 km from east to west.

    Stefan Thanks this.

Unfortunately, I got no one in Canada at all :( I was thinking of moving to Calgary, but I need to find a job first. Well, I tried both construction and oil industry but no luck so far. In fact, I tried anyone I could find :/ but I need to find a job offer for Long haul driver (NOC 7411) coz that way I won't need LMO in Alberta

Are you saying that you can apply for an immigration visa for Canada from inside Canada? That would make Canada the only country on the planet where that is possible

Denaldii - no, I was trying to say that he needed to make contact with someone in Canada who would be willing to sponsor him. Moreover, I'm not in the sponsorship or immigration business, and I've already received two PMs from other posters asking for help. Sorry, I can't help.

While I do my best to stay neutral, this really is one of the worst times in the past 15 years to try to immigrate here. When there isn't enough work for Canadian citizens, its going to be very hard to convince any reputable company or government body that you should be granted anything other than tourist rights. Anyone who grants you a spot here is more than likely taking advantage of you. Perhaps in a few years when we get out of this recession immigration might be easier.
