To the employer who may consider me,
I just graduated from truck driving school. I have all my endorsements, Tanker, Double Triple, Hazmat, and waiting for my TWIC card. I have no restrictions, can drive a manual.
School was 300 hours, have 39 hours of driving in school pulling 53 foot trailer.
I also am a graduate from college with a computer science degree I received in 2023.
I was in the Marine Corp back in 1992 to 1993. I am considered a disabled veteran, but no limitations to stop me from work.
With all that good stuff out of the way, onto the bad. I have a felony conviction back in 2017. That was 9 years ago.
The charge is called Possession of material depicting a minor. To explain briefly what happened, I used a program called Limewire. I was a person who downloaded games, music, movies, anything. It was all new to me, and I just downloaded so much stuff. In those downloads, there was some files that were considered illegal.
I suspected there was something I shouldnt have had and deleted all of those files.
So how did I get caught if everything was erased? There is a data center that tracks everyones downloads. If there is a file that is considered illegal, it is red flagged. You IP address is recorded. Cops can look up your IP provider and get who owns the account. The cops came and took everything, computer, laptop, phones.. everything
In my paper work it even says everything was deleted, but there were traces of the files existing on computer. I was stupid and changed my plea from not guilty to guilty because of how long I could went to prison. I should had fought it, but I was afraid of too many judgemental people on a jury because it is considered a sex offense. Even though it is a non violent offense, people dont even want to consider you for anything.
I have paperwork that shows no files were opened, they were deleted.. I am working on trying to get some kind of expungement.
I cant get hired through any mega carrier, and local mom and pop shops want 3 months exp, or 6 months or a year.
I am at the point where I would almost work for free just to get the verifiable experience. I am a hard worker, I never had any other issues in my 53 years of life and I dont feel it should define who I am as a person.
I just want to be given that chance, and if any employer would like to consider me please contact me. I live in Maryland, but I can go any where in the states around that, PA, VA, WV etc.. I will do any kind of CDL A work to get that experience I need.
I am just asking for that chance. Thank you

Attention employers: We now require a valid DOT# for anyone wishing to post a driving position. If your job offer doesn't contain a DOT number, it will not get past moderation and will not appear in the forum. The other requirements in the sticky at the top of this section are still required as well. Thank you for understanding.
Looking for work, recent truck grad, no exp, felon.
