I'm looking into a program now that will hopefully help flip the bill for schooling. Hubby went to the same school and picked up on driving pretty quick. I wouldn't mind paying the $4000, cause you're right about be able to make that back in 6 months, but I do already have thousands (somewhere in the range of $13000) in school loans already. (I was fresh out of high school and jumped way to fast thinking it was "the right thing to do". Knowing now I should have never done it) I'm just not trying to get us into more debt.

There's no unresolved issue, it's just being confined to a closet can get to you. We've both somewhat learned to look past the small irritations that may arise, but like you said the added stress of a bad load are a bad mixture. As far as what's going to improve is our money situation. One can never have to much of that but at the expense of our happiness is not something I'm willing to sacrifice. Family is more important to me than all the money in the world.

Your rule of the driver is the captain is one of the first things I learned. Driving a 80000 lb potential murder machine can do that to you. We never argue or even talk about something "heavy" if he's driving it's just to dangerous. He must have his full attention to the road. We should start the once or twice a month date thing. We do get time away from each other once we get home. I don't want to call it time away from each other but more time out of the closet. When we can do things as a family and spend time with our little ones. Right now we do an every other trip thing. I go along one then stay home the next one.

I know we can make some serious money as a team and being husband and wife makes it all the more better. We are owner operators and I do all the paperwork so we don't have to deal with any company other than brokers.

When it comes to the sexual predators hubby never lets his guard down. I don't go out by myself and if I have to (say he's sleeping or whatever) I carry a taser and a bottle of pepper spray. Thankfully I've never been hassled. And the ladies can already see the way im looking at them to know they better stay away. Mama tiger will claw some eyes out in a heartbeat if needed.

The stress of this industry can it toll on anyone. Throw cancer in the mix and that's one receipe for disaster. I am sorry to hear about your wifes cancer, Boone deserves that. But it's awesome to know anyone can out do what the so called "doctors" expect. Really inspiring!

I've already done things and went places I'd never imagine and hubby's only been driving OTR for about 2 years. I'm not fond of the east and the mountains are still a little intimidating but we shall muster through that. I figured to learn to drive is the first issue and hubby can do all the in city driving until I'm a bit better and more comfortable.

Thank you for your help and your story about spouses driving. Its comforting to know it can and has worked for people. We will figure things out as we always do. We're two strong individuals to know whether or not something is or isn't working.
