Last few times I went to WA/OR it was nothing but max weight paper loads paying crap..under $2 per mile.
When I do go I stick to Umatilla, OR Or Grandview, WA area and deadhead out. Was always able to get something decent out of Jerome, ID but it’s always changing running spot market.
Looks like cheap loads are back, what are you seeing?

Pretty sure My last one east from there wound up being about $2.90 a mile, I had gone west pretty good and it delivered about 50 miles from the barn so I was able to reload with my usual nonsense, but hardly setting the world afire with it
volume dropped quite a bit this week I only did one runSons Hero, Siinman, Deere hunter and 2 others Thank this. -
Same picture in the Midwest on the van side. The boards are full of $1.60 to $1.90 stuff again, and the same load will sit for two days and then get reposted 20 cents lower. What still works for us is skipping the board on the outbound and calling the three or four brokers we already ran for last year. Most of them still have the same lanes, they just are not posting them because the board fills at any price. Slower to build but the checks are the same size as last spring.
D.Tibbitt Thanks this. -
Picked a load out of Dallas TX area going back home today for 3K on less than 600 miles and only 12K. Not complaining. Also I can get loads going from MO to WA for 6500-6700 no problem and light weight. Been like that for a while now. Just have to know the honey spots.blairandgretchen Thanks this.

Load boards are what kills rates. They try and post BS #### for the morons to take. I haven't had DAT or Truckstop for 2 years now. I never used it but for information most of the time when I had it for the first 4 years. It is good for information but not great for booking loads unless in the area has no trucks.

I don't know. I know several guys who have been trucking their whole life. Running pretty much the same general areas, every week, for the pretty much the same brokers or shippers.
I get that everyone is a little different, but these guys weeks won't come close to mine. They're comfortable with what they're doing, and I guess that's ok, but I bet they're averaging 2.50$ freight all in.
I ran all last summer pretty much for one dude coming out of the house. It paid good and was consistent, but I could have done just as good on the load boards on most loads, and way better at times. -
Siinman, agree the boards are mostly noise now. We keep one board sub only for the info side, to see what a lane actually paid last week before we call anyone. The MO to WA numbers you mention are about what our better repeat brokers quote too, they just never post it. Honey spots are real, and most of them are somebody else's backhaul problem.
Siinman Thanks this. -
All depends on what you run as well and understanding the areas you are in.86scotty and Deere hunter Thank this.

Was there really a brake week this last week?
Did not know nor noticed anything extraordinary. Ignorance is bliss.86scotty Thanks this.
