After a tire repair is done at a truck stop they usually allow u to go 100 miles before u have to stop at the next location according to all Love’s locations

7 hours later could mean just that who knows how many miles were driven. I read a story on 2 tires flying off the truck.

Your absolutely right. When you pay for a service that service should be done correctly. That truck has been gone over with a fine tooth comb the past 2 weeks because we just bought it. Always drive company trucks before and we ventured off on our own 2 weeks ago. So we have spent everyday Making sure everything is ready to go ,safe and legal. Clearly within 300 miles of the repair the tires should no have fell off unless the service paid for wasn't done properly. I know for a fact the truck would have been fully inspected at the next stop.
We contacted the tire shop and they are paying for all parts and repairs.
But your right... I'm sure most don't even do pretrip inspections at all. And if so its half ###. New owner operators are more safe because they are cautious on everything. But wheels falling off 300 miles later is clearly the service dept. Fault.

I just had this happen a week ago. Caught it just before the wheels came off. The tire shop told me if it was over 100 miles they weren't liable for anything, but they did pay for half the bill. I had to have two new rims and a new hub.
I felt like it was totally the shops fault, but decided not to raise a fuss.

No rust or greese. The truck is very clean and we'll taken care of. Actually spent 12 hrs washing and waxing all the chrome Sunday. He just did came off a 4 day haul with no problems. It wasn't til the flat tire yesterday morning on Inside tire that he got fixed immediately. Then 319 miles later...bam. No warnings.

It's a learning experience because clearly if anyone who had a tire changed by a reputable dealer knows they will advise to have lugs retorqued. Lugs are known to sometimes get loose that's why you see those yellow markers on some trucks to alert the driver of a loose lug. Always check other people and your own work it's just good practice be very cautious trusting a tire tech even while mounting tires. Hell when the tech air up the tire I get far away. Especially if they don't use the cage.

Oh.. I'm not one to just let poor workmanship go half fixed. Lol. Thankfully the tire shop manager has been very polite and understands the severity of what it could have been.
