By the new regulations diver does not require to posses. DMV will revoke your CDL if you don't submit new medical when it's due.
Did you tell inspector he is knowledge is outdated and hen need training to comply

Wouldn't think they'd ask for something no longer required.

    Bean Jr. Thanks this.

Since when does logic, or the law for that matter, apply to a cop who pulls you over and asks you for something? They don't know the laws (or current changes) any better than we do most of the time.

The trick is to get the cop out of your life as quick as possible. I'd carry the card. Your company has a record of where that physical was.

    CassND and D.Tibbitt Thank this.

My medical card is in my wallet. So unless I lost that, with a lot more valuable stuff than the medical card, I don't understand how one could simply lose the thing.

If I lost my wallet my CDL would be gone, cash, cards of all sorts...
    And a perfectly good wallet.

And I would never simply lose it.
It would have to be stolen.

How does one just lose their medical card?

If I were a guessing man. I'd say that OP probably never got it in the first place.

My wallet don't have a card.
I don't recall having a card before the last one either which means my last card was issued almost 6 years ago.

    So was I.

I told the Indiana trooper that I was not required to carry it.

He told me that I was correct, but the level 3 takes a little less time if I give him a hard copy vs him having to look it up.

I figure I'm already stopped for official scrutiny, what difference will a couple more minutes make.

Your current medical card should be linked to your license

My company pays for the card and the office sends an electronic copy to safety.
I don't leave it up to them to attach it to my license and I can check the dept of public safety website in Texas any time.
I also make a copy and carry it and a copy of DL in my permit book.

Missouri driver takes it to the DMV & they attach it. Send copy of card & receipt from DMV to company so everything's covered
