Considering the tractor in question was a day cab there really wasn’t any reason to have the inward camera off.
In a sleeper cab a policy would be necessary for drivers privacy.

It's a good show we like it too. It's been on for about 20 years running and sometimes we see a "new" one.

I can't watch any of those air disaster shows. I have kids and family that fly a lot, and anytime I hear of a disaster like that, I immediately think of someones family that won't get to see that person again. For the people on board, it's pretty quick and painless, I suppose, maybe a couple minutes of screaming, but better than comatose for 4 years in a hospital bed. We can't forget, like our trucks, these are machines, made and operated by human beings, and we will, by nature, never be perfect. It's amazing how many flights there are ( 10,000 in the air at any given moment) and quite honestly, the air industry has an impeccable rating, billions of safe miles, like the saying, it's more dangerous getting TO the airport. However, we can't have zero risk, and with so many planes, the odds that something will happen are there. Don't kid yourself, there are plenty of near misses or failed mechanics, and the plane returns safely, once I was waiting for my kid, this plane taxis up, the freakin' brake was on fire! Naturally the ground crew had it out fast, and another plane was called, but this is the price of a modern society, and sadly, someone has to pay.
I think of these people on the plane. They left their houses, said goodbye to their family( unaware how right they were) , "oh, just a quick flight to Hawaii, we'll go to grandmas when I get back",,went to work like they did 100 times before, I'm sure everything checked out before takeoff, they aren't stupid, but this time, something let go, and catastrophic results. Our trucks aren't too much different, really. When I said goodbye to my family every day, I always hoped it wasn't "goodbye" for good. They had no idea,,

How does an engine just fall off a plane?

If you watch enough of those Air Disaster shows a common theme in this scenario (something falling off a plane) is somebody not following proper procedure during maintenance. NTSB will find out exactly what happened and put out a report but it takes about a year or more.
