Louisville Plane Crash

I talked to my brother who worked for a company that supplied the bolts for the engines, and he said, and maybe this was covered, the mechanics took a shortcut mounting the engine, and put undue stress on the bolts. Too early in the investigation, but somebodies aXX is in the hot seat. I suppose the only salvation here was it wasn't a passenger jet.

 

That's what caused the AA DC-10 crash at O'Hare in the 70's.

 

And that crash was caused by the maintenance department who wanted to save 200 hours worth of labor!!

 

That drivers gonna tell that story at a lunch counter in 30 years and nobody will believe him.. lol

The MD-11 was involved in numerous accidents throughout its history,most of them involving botched landings because of its higher speeds.

 

UPS will be dragging the boneyards looking for planes to replace them. They have a wide variety to choose from.
