A special permit, tandem, and tanker ban, along with the prospect of a prolonged wreck clean-up have officials expecting a “lengthy recovery” for traffic conditions along the Massachusetts Turnpike.
As of 9 a.m. on Tuesday, February 9th, the Massachusetts Department of Transportation has initiated a ban on trucks hauling tandem trailers, tanker trucks, and rigs with special permits due to weather conditions along the Massachusetts Turnpike.
The ban extends from the New York State line to mile marker 51.2 in Springfield.
