Ok Zata, when I’m at a shipper and waiting on my trailer to be loaded, I take the info from the loaded shipper and start my trip sheet. When I’m unloaded and at my next shipper I Transflo my last trip in and start my next trip sheet.

Yeah there was a time when I did it all before I left the receiver. I just picked up a lazy habit

if you have to idle as high as 10° then you need to change fuel providers, unless you mostly fuel below the Mason-Dixon line. Most northern fuel is treated to handle -15, even the bio mix fuels. That is unless you have a bad battery or two.

I'm on the same page as @Winnyf1, -5 to -10, then I start idling.

One thing that I found that helps a lot is go to Lowe's and buy a roll of that silver radiant barrier insulation (looks like the window shades in the truckstops). You can cut it to fit the window areas and it makes a big difference. It may only be an R2 or R3, but when I did that in the Magnum truck I drove, I could keep the sleeper curtains open and it would stay acceptably warm...and that includes covering the sleeper windows as well. Of course I had to keep a ice scraper handy for the morning because it would insulate it enough that the inside of the windows would frost over as bad as the outside

Just going off of previous experience. Had to idle in upstate NY on a 0 degree night. That’s what Knight wanted.

Drop should be a good thing. Drop the loaded, grab an empty (hopefully there will be one there) then boogie on over to your next pick up.

Btw, don’t forget to get your 30 minutes off duty while you’re at your drop/hook.

    Zata40 Thanks this.

Well my DM called me back, there wad an error from who scheduled it. It is a live unload and I was told by receiver not until 5pm unless they can get me in earlier. Have already been approved detention time when I leave. My clock is going to be shotty now so if I have to hang out here a little afterwards they said its okay.

Hoping to get a 10 in here, then head to my next load offer and see how a red eye plans out and where I can get to from there.

All I can hear in my head is my trainer saying, "so you wanna be a truck driver." Haha

    mitrucker and Zata40 Thank this.

Lol there will be plenty more "situations". Just remember you are a product of your decisions, not your circumstances.

sc00ter and Ray Strack Thank this.
