My understanding with the pay is that they take the trainer pay (57) plus the full bonus (9) plus the hazmat pay when placarded (5) plus they figure drivers make an additional (3) for layover detention breakdown and extra stop pay... 57+9+5+3= 74cpm I"m sure there are drivers probably making that, but management calculates things differently than drivers.
As for the $1250 a week guarentee, I'm sure there are some qualifier rules involved. I think we all know that 1250 a week here is very attainable if you're willing to work the system and put the work in... I can count only a few times in the years I've been here that I didnt make 1250 a week (gross), and that was usually because I took hometime or was broke down or just had crappy miles, and a simple phone call fixed my miles! I also assume that 1250 is gross, which is $65k a year.... If you're not making $65K a year, you're either new and haven't figured out the system yet, or you take too much time off.

Are you a trainer or a solo company driver and have you been with them a while to be making that kind of money? If you're netting about $1,200 per week you must be grossing about $1,400 per week. That's about 73k per year, not bad at all.

I'm confused on how you can net $1200 out of a $1400 gross? You guys must not have anything going into a 401K and then I still wonder how you do it.

I've read about per diem and most say don't take it. Has that changed? Does Magnum force it on drivers?

Solo company driver. Gross was about $80k on the nose last year. I don't pay any attention to bonuses or whatever. Makes my head hurt. I know some of my money goes into a 401k but I didn't max it. Put your extra cash into bitcoin or ethereum.

    Everybody situation is different.
How many dependents you have, state taxes, Roth 401k or traditional deductions, whether or not you take per diem, other benefits that you decide to take, health insurance cost on whether or not you family plan or single plan.

The not taking the per deim kinda changed under Trump's tax plan. Before you could get massive write offs buy not taking it on your check and taking the write-off at the end of the year. Now you cant take that write off so taking per deim is usually the better move.

For a single guy living in a no income tax state taking home 1200 after deductions is not uncommon at magnum if you run hard. And that is not including the bonus at the end of the month which if you have a good month can be a grand or more. My bonus was usually 700 plus without really trying all that hard.

I was averaging over 14,000 or over miles a month at magnum, and after taxes and stuff it’s was like 1100-1300 a week. I went from December to April without a 34 hour restart, I would just drive the 2 or 6 hours I had available on those days. I left due to the fact that I was always being sent to Jersey twice a week, and when I requested a run to texas for a day off I was told I was already planned for my next few runs, which was Minnesota to Jersey and back as usual. The shops are eh at most you do have to communicate with them, when CR says the told Fargo you were coming you have to immediately call Fargo to let them know you are coming because they won’t do it for you.
