From what I see in the article, it looks like I-5 is going to have several weekends of lane closures through October with major delays expected. Anyone in the Sacramento/Central Valley area have recommendations on the best way to avoid it? I was thinking going through East Bay Area 5/580/680/80/505/5 or Lodi to Fairfield to Dunnigan 5/CA-12/80/505. I wasn't sure if it would actually save any time. What's your plan?

Would the aggravation of going through the East Bay with @ 25 extra miles be worth it? Hwy 12 to I-80 wouldn't be as bad but I would just deal with the construction in Sacramento. Construction is everywhere this time of year and you can't go around them all.

It is a tough one , the bay area stretches' and rambles and is torture, I would not want to go that way. 99 would be better than than the SF and surrounding areas.I love 1 and 101 , but for Drivers it is probably too slow. But its so beautiful.
    Stay safe Drivers.
5-26-49-20 back to 5. looks interesting.
