I've been doing Toronto to Montreal, London to Montreal all week. The amount of veichles including a charter bus that I saw in the center medians and side shoulder ditches is beyond shocking. Ontario has to be giving these licenses out like popsicles! What is actually going on in Ontario?

I can actually understand this in Manitoba or Saskatchewan on the Trans Canada highway because its really levelled and those snow drifts get serious at times you have to take your foot off of the accelerator for a bit. But these new to Canada truckers don't understand snow and drastic temperature drops. Does anyone besides me have their truck governed at 105 Km/h..? I swear on that same night 7 trucks blew by mine doing at lease 120 Km/h near Brock, ON. Later on I counted 4 Tractor trailers sleeping including a UPS set of trains.. is a free for all here. And now reading about the Fire truck hut & run that driver is a serious moron.

A certain country, that we're not allowed to talk about ,has taken over the industry and it's centered in Brampton, Ontario. That is the problem in Ontario but no one cares to do anything about it.

IDK about Ontario, but here in Alberta, my insurance broker told me, they figure about 30% of commercial trucks, are being operated by people with no Lisc, No Reg, No Insurance and No Authority to operate. If they get caught, or crash, they simply get on a plane and leave. Or the fines are less than the cost of having all those things, so they pay it and off they go again. I personally witnessed a daycab truck and trailer, getting out of serviced in the SE Blitz this summer, for literally having none of the things listed above. Just some scrap metal truck and trailer the guy bought, pulled some plates off a parked truck somewhere (or 3D printed them) decals on the door, and started doing loads.

They figure 4 wheelers, its about the same 30-35% with no Lisc/Reg/Insurance, Stolen or Cash bought car, stolen or 3d printed plates. My insurance company actually has a coverage rider for this now, not just protection from uninsured drivers, but no lisc/in the country illegally coverage.

I'm sure more training will fix this, right?

Like I've said before, you can't fix a poor attitude with more training.

I'm blaming the government of Canada. Especially in Ontario. I was telling my wife the other day it's over here in regards to normal reality. You can hear the Officer asking the driver in the 1st video "Don't you care about how the fire fighter is doing?' The officer asks that in order of being civil but for what? Why be civil towards someone who comes from a place where they don't care or respect the value of life? Did that officer really think that driver would care and had sympathy? How disconnected is the officer on understanding that the majority will never care so why even waste the engery on asking? And this is how the problem started and why Canada is the way it is and will never get better because the government and politicians don't want it to get better because they ignore the main issues. The monopolization of Trucking is now around 90% with that same mentality and will continue on a downwards spiral to the bottom in Canada. Time shows you going back 20 or 30 years the differences yet no one does multiple case studies in the government as it appears plan as day. The ignorance of the government shows that they want it to be like this or they would of already found a way to change it or never let it happen in the 1st place.

This is not a training problem. It's a cultural one. They don't care about safety or any rules or regulations. No amount of enforcement is going to change that. This industry is done.

Amen dude. I just found out, that the Government of Canada, spent $148 million dollars, to send recruiters to third world countries, to recruit and express entry drivers. Ontario went from 80 to 280 driving schools between 2017 and 2024. All Anti-fraud and Anti-Exploitation checks and balances have been removed, and the majority of these drivers, are working for carriers, with some sort of drug smuggling activity. There is also an estimate, that 2 million foregin drivers, are pre-cleared to enter Canada as truck drivers, as the need arises.

This industry and country are so done!

Just a Timbit, I will post more, as this issue is being exposed, due to the tariff fiasco.
Liam DeBoer on Instagram: " Debunking Politicians and Media Who Claim Canada Isn’t a Major Player in Drug Trafficking - Drug busts happen deep in the U.S., not at the border - Organized crime infiltrated Canada’s trucking industry - Mass immigration leaves doors wide open Incompetence or Corruption?"
