Question: Manager likes to ride with us and blow smoke up our butts. Just found out the she doesn't have a CDL like we thought she did. Is this legal? Can we refuse to let her ride with us? Please help us!!!!!!!!

Let's see.... you work for her in the company... she is part of the company and carried under their liability..

My wife rode with me and she did not have an CDL.. she signed a waiver for the company...

While it may be uncomfortable, it is not illegal. As long as she doesnt try to actually drive. She is a manager.....maybe its job hunting time, if this is a big problem. What exactly is the color of the smoke she's blowing?

    Coover Thanks this.

Not illegal. Is she new? Maybe she wants to ride with a few drivers one time to gain knowledge. She can't do her job if she's out with drivers all the time. Maybe this is a temporary thing. Why doesn't someone just ask her why she's doing it?

You know, the typical BS about how the drivers are No1 and safety first and if you ever need anything let us know, how dedicated she is to this outfit bla bla bla. I just thought because we have EDLs that if someone was sitting in the passenger seat they had to be on the log for on duty time for DOT. Was thinking that if we get into an accident what would happen?

At least she's out there on occasion getting to see what your job is really like. Better that than some demanding desk jockey that has never even sat in a truck telling you what to do.

MachoCyclone, Pintlehook and sevenmph Thank this.
