Marten isn't a OTR company so I wouldn't waste my time there doing that lol. @mjd4277 what's the policy now?

I’m OTR myself (have been since I started with the company)and it certainly wasn’t what you stated when I started with Marten. Mind you, I usually stay out 4-5 weeks at a time so per the company manual I should be getting 5 days off max, since I live east of the Rockies-and even then lately they’ve been trying to cut drivers short! Regional Drivers who stay 7-12 days out go home for 48 hours.

Now they’re saying for every 5 days you’re out you get a day off(supposedly).

I guess there home time has changed for the worse. When I was there even during my 20 yrs of service you ran 2 -3 weeks out you can go home for 1 week if you wanted to. They always made sure you got home for thanksgiving, Xmas, New Years as well. Although most drivers hit the road after Xmas. At the end of the day if Marten works for any driver there well that's good. I run dedicated. I start Monday morning and return home Friday afternoon, weekends off and manage over 100k per annum as company driver. The long haul trucking stuff is a thing of the past that why Marten puts all the General mills stuff on rail out if Carson, Ca to Murfreesboro and the return. Many good runs are gone especially out of Chicago to the west. But hay whatever works for them.

Oh no MARTEN tripping. I used to be home every weekend! Monday to Friday and very rarely early Saturday morning with a load to rob them of Max detention. I can't believe they are shafting drivers man.

Sad but true. If the company does indeed get sold to Swift that’s a sign to get out of Dodge-fast!! But on a high note my next load will take me to Laredo,Texas- a little over 1300 miles-and it ain’t going by rail!!lol Which is a good thing considering what I’m dealing with right now. That photo above is the current weather in Sioux City,Iowa! Good thing I traveled up I-29 after the Super Bowl ended last night.

Marten was good to me man. I can't believe how they are turning out. I ruled the Memphis terminal with an iron fist. Slowly but surely, the rail became a large deal. Local pay from the rail went from $125 a load to hourly. Man, so sad

    mjd4277 Thanks this.

Marten sure Takes the Cake! Apparently they have a firm that calls drivers when they quit. Asking questions why you quit. What the hell Marten isn't going to change their spots.
