I really like Tennessee a lot. The people, the beauty of the scenery and so many places to visit. I hate the fact that they feel that they have to tax people to death.

 

Yeah bro it's rough. Property taxes went up 38% last year

 

That's crazy. You really have to hate all politicians who bleed the little people who support the states no matter what political party they represent. It's about time that they do something good for the average person instead of themselves and the rich people.

I live in Tennessee and sales tax is 9.75 percent actually. We have no state income tax though.

 

Well.....perhaps the people should stop voting in certain types of leaders. These folks can't get in there without the people. People should do a better job of evaluating their leaders....most people are 1 issue voters. They vote for what sounds good as opposed to their best interests.

 

There are parts of East Tennessee, and a little bit of South Carolina that I find very pleasant.

That’s what is getting you guys hosed,no income tax and a high sales tax to compensate for the lack of revenue for the state.

A few years back, my brother and sister-in-law bought property down in Medon because they were preparing to build a house on that property from scratch to replicate their old house in Illinois after my brother retired. When they moved last August the tariffs went into effect, which sent prices of construction/building materials soaring through the roof, to the point where they had to scratch those plans. They ended up buying a house in Milan. They still own the property near Medon, but it’s an empty lot for now. I plan to visit them in a couple months when I drive down to Tennessee for family reunion.

 

I agree. If a politician does not listen to and represent the people who elected them they should be voted out of office but a lot of people are like sheep and either follow an individual or a certain political party no matter how good they are.
