Application just approved, Any info regarding equipment and orientation things to know would be appreciated. I understand that I'll be waiting for a time since they make the decisions to hire on Mondays, but would like any info. I think I'm going to pass on Roehl as I've seen more positive and like more of the info I've read on Mav lately. Transmissions? I seen last year Notarps4me was drivin an auto?? Is this the standard for them? How do they drive? Work? Orientation tips or anything would be appreciated.

I see your from the "great state of Michigan", half of my orientation class was from there. I'm pretty sure you'll be in the glass div. 2 weeks out then 34hr at home usaully under load, think about it! Oh the trucks, it's a crap-shoot. I had an old pumpkin with 500k miles on it with an air leak!
NukedNative Thanks this. -

The home time is a joke. I live in chicago and I never knew until late friday afternoon if I was going to make it home or not, and usually had to drive 16-17 hours straight to get there. Deliver in kentucky on thursday, then get a load for north carolina to del friday. Maverick's Logistics isn't very logical, especially when my dispatcher told me 'We don't have frieight that goes to the chicago area from there, mostly ohio'. That was well and good, but WHAT WAS I DOING THERE THEN!?!!?!
Maverick's pretty much a joke. They make you secure things 'their' way, the maverick way, only because they can. If you don't secure it how they want you to, even if it is secured to DOT and the Federal Law's specifications, you can still get wrote up. God forbid you secure something wrong in front of another driver, cause as soon as you're done you'll be getting either a phone call or a msg on your qualcomm.
The miles of course are usually short by 50 to a 100 on each load, the wait time has increased to normally 4-5 hours, though if you unload in kansas, oklahoma, texas, arkansas, iowa, missouri, louisiana you can look to sit there until the next morning.
I'm trying to think of something good...
You do get free food in orientation.
I worked for them for almost two years, and the only reason it was for that long is cause I was never home during the week for interviews, lol.NukedNative Thanks this.
