    Going through training soon so was wondering who are the good companies. I'm hoping to pay for my own CDL training.because I've heard too many horror stories about company recruiters hiring people they don't expect to make it figuring they will at least get exorbitant fees for CDL training. Don't shoot the messenger, it's what I heard ...dunno how true.but don't want to take that chance.

    At any rate, I think it would be awful to get hired/fired from a truck job and then have to pay 5k for training.

    Just realize going into it that no company is a perfect fit for everyone. Most of them will treat you fair and some will out right lie cheat and steal from you. Do your due diligence. Check the old post's on here there are plenty . Good luck.

    I have been driving for many years & I will tell you that it is actually hard to get fired from a OTR company unless you deserve too. Except for wrecking the truck, being disqualified from driving or pissing off a customer. Most things are overlooked that would get you canned elsewhere if you can pu & del freight.
    A recruiter is not going to know if you will make it. Everyone hits the fight or flight wall and only you will have the choice to run or flght

    My favorite companies would be the ones who take you to a buffet during orientation. Those sandwich & pizza outfits blow, LOL.

    Agreed.

    Also, one reason, but not the only one, that there's so many threads slamming OTR companies is... alot of them treat drivers like crap.
