Last night there was a traffic jam on I 35 South in Oklahoma City. When we finally made our way to the cause it was a Swift truck headed up the hill doing all of 20 miles an hour. The driver had his cab lights on and was reading some kind of manual while driving down the road. He had just passed a turn off so it was not like he didnt have to be on the road. May question is does Swift put their drivers on the road before they learn to shift into second gear? Was that what the manual was for?![]()
Maybe Swift is bad because of their DRIVERS

Swift doesn't have many drivers, they mostly hire steering wheel holders.

Wow that is news to me. I didn't think that Swift had drivers. Tell me does a real driver go 50 to 55 mph on the freeway, holds up traffic going down the hill, but passes everyone like they are standing still in a construction zone. That ain't no driver, that is a SUPERTRUCKER. Way to go Swift, I guess someday I might grow up to be driving one of your classy trucks down the road. ......................................................What I'm over qualified, say it isn't so.
Joetro and goin2fast10 Thank this. -
Sounds like another made up story like the one some time back about a Swift driver with black plastic in the window. Why don't you folks show a little maturity and quit perpetuating stuff about companies that you don't like? So you don't like Swift, or CRE or Werner, fine. Others may not like who you drive for. Only small (not in stature) people have to put others down to make themselves look better.
telcobilly Thanks this. -
Ok now here is a funny one for you.
When I was in training I we passed a swift truck with the word crash on the window.
I gave him a thumbs up and laughed he just waved like a dummy must of not got the reason for the thumbs up.
Come on guys that was priceless a swift truck with the word crash on it. -
Some things regarding Swift drivers you don't have to make up. A jury here in Kansas upheld a multi-million dollar award after a Swift driver backed out of a rest area along U.S 54 near Tucumcari, N.M and into the path of a Yellow Frt. truck, killing the co-driver and seriously injuring it's driver.
Along with another multi-million dollar settlement paid due to an Arizona accident, and you've got some very compelling reasons why you should give every Swift truck you see a very wide berth. -

Ahh,cut them a little slack..Most SWIFT drivers are still newbies..

The above mentioned carriers and others not listed have a reputation, people sharing their views on said reputation does not make them "small" it means they are discussing information they have seen or been told. THese reputations have been built up over many YEARS. Why do they have such bad reps?...because people TALK about their experiences at said companies or with their drivers and others have SEEN what these companies are like, and the drivers they hire too. I KNOW when I see ANY big rig on the road I give them LOTS of room...why because I DONT know how tired that driver is, if they are paying attention or the mechanical condition of their rig...so does that make me a "small" person when I talk to others and tell them give ALL big rigs LOTS of room and why I feel that way??Harry Boland Thanks this.
