    No change there then.
I've clashed with Russian immigration myself, nothing to do but wait for them to get on with it.
Looks like a good place for a Flying J though. Kinda surprising nobody has seen the business opportunity there for feeding truckers, rather than waiting for the Red Cross to intervene.

I have a neighbor with a mobile burger bar, wonder if he would notice if I "borrowed" it for a few days??!!!

Kinda makes us look like we take our truck stops for granted. I am surprised that noone has put something there. It would be a huge goldmine. Thats for sure.:yes2557:

There are no US style truckstops in Russia, there are just some family run places, selling whatever local food is available. Mostly apples!
But MacD's have been there for a while now in the cities, maybe they could set up a modified drive-thru truck stop?
Being a US company, MacD is considered a good career move. I have seen lawyers and doctors giving up their careers to work there, they earn more sweeping the floor than they do in their own professions.
So there would be no shortage of locals wanting to work there.
And even if the Russian authorities found a reason to object, I would have thought it would be fairly straightforward to set up on the Finnish side of the border.

I was once stuck at immigration in Russia for two days, I think that is fairly standard.

ALWAYS stockpile food first. Apples, pancakes and bread are the easiest, and plenty of clean water, much of the tapwater is not fit for drinking, due to the plumbing in most cities being over a century old.
And heating - if you haven't got an APU .........??
And this is one time when pee bottles are essential! Wading out in 3 foot deep snow gets kinda old!!

Depends who you are in CA to the TX borders.
If you are an illegal, the door is wide open for you and yours with our liberal politicians holding the door open.
