Hi everyone, need some help. I got myself in a pickle. My mechanical RGN neck has came off the wood and is just hanging there. It’s also shifted towards the driver side. My question is how can I remedy this? Photos attached. IMG_9009.jpeg IMG_9008.jpeg IMG_9007.jpeg IMG_9003.jpeg IMG_9004.jpeg IMG_9010.jpeg

If you have a bunch of thin shim boards you could slowly lift it back up by airing up the truck, stacking boards under the bottom of the neck where it attaches to the deck. Then dump air and put some between your frame and the neck up by the fifth wheel on top of your ramps. Repeat this process until it's high enough to hook back up.

Then you should be able to hook it back up even if it's at a bit of an angle. It won't be easy.

If you want to try to re center it get it up on a single 4x4 between the neck and the fifth wheel. Then park your tractor so the bottom of the neck is next to the trailer. Use a ratchet binder and a chain between the side of your trailer and the bottom of the neck. You should be able to slide it sideways. Just go slow and be careful that it doesn't slip off the 4x4 or you will be stacking blocks again.

If you don't have any boards to work with find a local towing company that has any small tow truck with a boom on it. You do not need a big heavy wrecker. Any car tow truck will be enough. Have them back up next to your neck and pick up the rear of the neck high enough that they can re center it and put your board back under it.

Your going to have to get something/ wood timbers under the the bottom of the neck down by the dog bones and drop your airbags to raise the neck again from I can make of the pics. Also replace that wore out drive tire.

Thank you for this. I am too exhausted to do anything tonight. I will give it a go tomorrow morning! Worst case I will door dash a couple of jacks from tractor supply. I saw that door dash where I’m at will deliver from tractor supply Home Depot Lowe’s and Ace Hardware.

Haven’t looked at the drives this evening. I’m sure they have went through hell this last week. 2 times I was stuck in soft ground at a shipper and then a receiver for the same load a D6 Dozer. Hate construction sites with my truck. I’m appreciating the thoughts of having full lockers!

Maybe not really sure looks like right rear outside is worn pretty bad in the center.

I see you’re using g a 6x6…. I wondered why such a big piece of wood. However you don’t have ramps which when I had a mechanical, helped support the wood. I can’t really tell but it appears you place your wood too far back to begin with. It should be right behind/touching the 5th wheel. You’re gonna have to slowly raise it up by using different size wood and using your truck to lower/raise the neck.

I had it on the ramps closer to the fifth wheel at the beginning. Then the neck shift towards the drivers side and I spend countless attempts to “figure it out” by driving at an angle to get it connected. Saw bottom pins weren’t clearing the deck. Tried adjusting the wood and that’s when it all went bad.
Still I didn’t have the wood so close to the fifth wheel. I always had it midway on the ramps. I had the 6x6 with a shim board on top.
