Got a neat little letter from the State of WA the other day reminding me to renew my med card and furnish a copy to my local DMV. Went into my local clinic, got the physical done. I honestly feel that with COVID, the exam has gotten to be even more of a sham than it was a year ago.

Received my first 2-year card of my career, then ran to the DMV. No admittance to the DMV premises due to COVID without an appointment, and it's like one person plus staff allowed in the entire place at a time. Luckily, if you're just turning in paperwork, they'll skip the appointment step and run it inside to scan it in for you while you wait outside the door.

Anyway, I'm legal for another 2 years, so crisis averted. Can't help but notice just how much things have changed in the last 6 months, though. Before I shipped to Basic Training, all this extra hooplah would've been inconceivable. Now it's treated like the norm... IDK.

Dunno about other states, but there's a snapshot of what to expect post-COVID shutdown in the Evergreen State if it's time to renew your med card.

In WA you can just email a copy of your Med card and they update the info in a few days.... I’ve done it that way for a few years now......

Meh... I was already a couple blocks away, and I was enjoying the first day I was allowed to go off post in a couple weeks... also, I needed to ask how COVID was affecting knowledge testing, since I'm getting ready to scoop up a couple endorsements. Might as well do it while the Army might pay for it, y'know?

Tip of the iceberg, my friend. Try and get an out of state vehicle( that may need an inspection) registered. By the way they are doing it now, I heard, there's a HUGE backlog of services, I'd bet dollars to donuts, wait, donuts ARE a dollar) that many people are driving with expired licenses, because they have to. Be lucky you got a 2 year reprieve from this crap, like laundry day, it's great, because it's the longest time before you have to do laundry again. I suppose, in your case, that's a good thing, however I'm concerned, who may be granted a card, especially a 2 year and not suppose to. That really surprises me, as I figure there's no money in a 2 year, give 'em a 6 month one, in 2 years we make 4 times the money,,,nice huh?

Living in a government state of a political republic has its downfall. Especially in high crime areas like high density urban jungles with paramilitary law enforcement during these challenging times of being forced to wear cloth based choke hold and spit restraint muzzle.

They want you to know....They are your Master, Not your friend.

    This is the future...today!

I have an appointment to renew my license this next week.... on a Saturday. o_O

My luck I'll get there at 2 pm on Saturday when they've always closed at 12 on Saturdays either to find them closed, or to be told "we don't do CDLs on Saturdays'.
