Can Melton drivers park their trucks at a KW dealerships while on days off?
Will one year solo OTR experience get me on?

All I have to stay about Melton Truck Lines Inc. is that they pay good, pay on time, but their Hometime sucks. I worked them for 3.5 years and was home once a month. I know I'm a truck driver but lots of other companies get driver home a lot more often then once a month. They also lied on my DAC and said I damaged their truck when I turned it in, I damaged my final load, and the I was fired for being a dangerous and unsafe. If I was such an unsafe driver I wonder why they gave me a 1 year safe driving award , 2 year safe driving award, I was driver of the month twice, and I'm eligible for rehire. I personal will never work for this company sconces they lied about the reason why my employment with them ended. I was laid off due to them being unable to get me home due to low freight going to california. I currently work for J.B. Hunt as a local driver on the MBM food service account out of Tracy, CA. I personal think they are a great company , I know other people think different. I go home daily, have weekends off , descent benefits , and get paid $1230 a week before taxes. It ain't a perfect job but it's good enough I'm planning on this being my last truck job until I retire.

    jomar68 Thanks this.

I am a student looking into Melton and was wondering your input on the company are they good to work for and do they treat you like a person and not a truck number

Yes you can do that with permission of that property owner. One year will more than get you on and at .42 cpm.

Well I like it here, but truth is with any large company you start as a number. My dm knows me by name when I call in now and doesn't have to ask for a truck number. Not sure if all do that or not but it's nice.

Overall I have been very happy with Melton. Really no better place to learn flatbed IMHO.

I have been working for Melton for
3 weeks now, & this is the second time
I have worked for them. My truck is governed
at 65 & I haven't had any late loads yet.
The company doesn't seem as good as it
was 5 years ago when I left. That being
said, it is much better than all the cos.
that I went to after leaving them. You have
to learn the way that they like to do things
& it will work fine there.
