A Volvo dealer can't fix it ? It's probably needs volvo software to read the codes and give them some idea of were to start. Hill Start Assistant and Antilock Brakes and probably Traction Control System.

Not questioning or critiquing you Brandt, only thinking about your reply...
Remember when it was the drivers job to start on a hill, control the wheel lock up and the driver was the traction control?
If these safety systems can make trucks almost idiot proof, these same systems are important steps to achieving autonomous?

It sounds like the truck has ishift the volvo automatic transmission. That's what I was thinking because of HSA. We had to do that ourselves with manual transmission. I can see if driver has only 2 pedals they don't teach that anymore. I don't understand how nobody can fix the truck unless the person doesn't understand it's a Volvo truck and only Volvo can fix it.

    QUALITYTRUCK and black_dog106 Thank this.

Hey Nas. The gentleman stated that "nobody" can fix this issue. I think between both of us we are fixing 5-6 a month.

MichaelK1 Where are you located? Bring it to the shop where I work and I will fix it.
    I'm in Northwest Canada.

Most likely an ABS problem. Both Traction Control and Hill Start Assist requires ABS to work.

Definitely an ABS related problem could be a failed TC solenoid or wiring too.

Need more information. Year of the truck and need the codes in order to help you get the truck fixed.
