Try it out in what way ?

Midland made a serious of ham radios for 2 meters and 220 mhz i was not impressed with them.

    Hi all,
While certain brands are known to be better than others for good reasons, it's not always true. My midland 5001z (their version of the cobra 25) fooled others into thinking it was a big radio. It was out of the box stock from Walmart. Great little radio.

Today, I used my refurbished cobra 25 and chatted with the big guys running converted 10 meter radios on CB. After hearing me talk to another driver about my setup, many others keyed up with astonishment. They though I had a big radio, when really it was a cobra 25 (tuned up a little higher than 4 watts) and a magnetic little wil antenna. They called me "cobra" as we kept checking our 20s throughout our conversation. Not a bad handle. Find a decent radio and even better tech!

10 meter radios or the CBs that are called 10 meter radios suck. They are cbs and not ham radios.

I suspect Ridgeline is smart enough not to include the Uniden or President HR2510
    in that statement.

Mark did the one with tape around the front. It was matched to a Texas Star DX 1600 V which I had to sell to pay my divorce attorney. The other one was from the original owner in Las Vegas Nevada and I don't know the history of it.
