I'm still in school but its my understanding they don't force your route but they do use fuel solutions.

They give you a route suggestion but it doesn't have to be followed. Any new students here, DO NOT FOLLOW IT, I can't stress that enough. You will burn thru your 70 hours and be wondering why your only getting 2500 miles or so. Get a GPS and take the fastest, safest, and most practical route daily and conserve your hours.

The fuel solution doesn't have to be followed either, but they do want you to. You get a bonus for being 80%compliant or better on your fuel stops. It's about $125 a month give or take. If you don't follow it its not that big of deal but they may message you asking why you aren't following it.

The one good thing about Millis when I was there was they didn't babysit you(don't know if that's changed) you got your load assignment and was expected to pick up and deliver, very rarely did I talk to my dispatcher.

    Still true.
About the GPS suggestion above. Totally agree, make sure it is a TRUCK gps, not the one that you use in a car.
