Once you get your CDL through the student program at Prime, they'll pay you $600 per week during training- before taxes, or 12-cpm for all miles whichever is greater. Stay for a year after qualifying for solo status, and the tuition is completely forgiven.

It sounds like good money to start with ..for me at least ...I read once one becomes solo they start paying him/her 36cpm if am nt mistaken ...from all I read abt their cdl sponsorship the hardest part is to be with a trainer for 3 to 6 months ..

With prime if you get assigned with a lightweight truck you will get 41 cents. Prime will hire out of Orlando at this time as I have been approved. I just need to fax the release form and they send me a bus ticket to Missouri. To me they seem to be the best choice for a training company at least around here.

Somewhere in this forum people talk about the trucks prime uses. Basically the new guys start with lightweight trucks. smaller sleepers is what that amounts to. Some people don't mind it and get creative with their space, some hate it. If you end up getting a bigger truck (I don't know who decides that), I believe you get 36 cents.
Yes you have to go with a trainer for 4 to 6 months or until you reach the 40,000 mile mark. It seems to be a hit or miss with people getting good trainers or not. By the way the 600 a week only applies if you are available to work 7 days a week.

That's training pay. You'll most likely be done with that in about 8 weeks... the time it takes to get your CDL plus 30,000 miles with a trainer. What? You thought it'd be a million bucks the first day out? Most places you're lucky to get $300 a week.

I've looked at a lot of the companies who train newbs and prime does pay the best during training. The next highest amount I've seen is 450. Most others are between 300-400.
