My truck runs about 170 - 180 degrees city driving. When idling for a half an hour temp settles down to 165 degrees. I figured anything over 160 is O.K? (Fan is a 2 speed, runs on low all the time)

Hi DJ: I dont know what kind of truck or motor you have? I have a Cat and had to replace the water pump a few months ago. I figured while i was right there, i would change the thermostats. I wish i hadnt done it. The truck now warms up slower and doesnt stay as warm as before.
I have a friend that had motor rebuilt by Cat and he has the same story with new thermostats..........
So if it is staying warm and not having heat problems, i would be very hesitant about changing them.....:biggrin_2553:
