Montgomery Transport Closes No Notice 1000 people lost job

Judging from all the job posts (more than usual recently), it seems they've been bleeding off drivers for a while. A few of their most recent reviews are from drivers not able to get ahold of dispatch at all.

Here we go again!

 

Cheap freight destruction strikes again!

 

Well, they were guilty of that themselves. They tried to sell themselves to P&S, but their recently-former CEO sued to stop it. It also stopped their Chapter 11 and they could only do Chapter 7. That was the end.

One of their drivers posted the company message about the sudden shut down to 1) deliver current load if close, 2) go home if close, 3) do not pick up assigned new loads, and 4) wait for further instructions. Also in that message was a name and phone number for a recruiter at P&S. Looks like they are trying to get everyone home or to a safe haven. Their drivers should be fine overall. Even though thewy cannot buy MT, P&S can now take steps to purchase certain assets, including the rigs and terminals. Poaching drivers by agreement and very likely the officers, too. IF the bankruptcy judge allows it, that is.

 

There is a long history between P&S and Montgomery Transport. In truth, they more or less owe the start of the company to P&S.

 

Pray for those drivers who lost a job and they will find a new job soon.
