I'll tell you drivers, no matter how good of a deal you think that you have, wherever you're working at, don't ever think for a moment that you're anything more than just a number. I gave 7 1/2 years to Moore Transport.
I just now learned that if you exit Moore transport and don't become a Jack cooper driver or sign a lease to own contract for one of Moore Transport's trucks, you forfeit your vacation pay.
I get 4 weeks paid vacation a year. That's $5200!
I'm filing for Medicare this year so I have no intention of starting a career at Jack Cooper. Nor do I have any plans of buying any truck.
I'm going on vacation this coming week. When I return I will probably be turning my truck in.
Maybe before!
7 1/2 years!!!

Sure sounds like you have to make a choice.I was @ Moore 6 1/2 years liked it ,but saw the writing on the wall.I applied for SS kept working ,then decided to hang it up.Two weeks later heard about the sale ,all the best to all.I understand your feelings about going elsewhere not 25 yrs old, good luck friend.
Tall Mike and MooneyBravo Thank this. -
I wouldn’t shut the door yet. A lot of people with opinions on Jack Cooper have never worked at Jack Cooper. I did really well there as an owner operator, and had the economy not shifted when it did I’d still be there. Maybe give it a chance and see what the climate is before running for the hills.

I’m blown away that Jack Copper “a Teamster” company is trying to push a company driver into a lease purchase. Teamsters pretty much single handed brought that segment of business to a stop in California. I guess not paying benefits to contractors does help their bottom line. And, yes I am as anti lease purchase as anyone could possibly be. If you can’t afford to buy a truck you should be a company driver.
