You have got to be kidding right? I have worked for Roadway for the last 12 years and my job is now gone! We lost our terminal in Kernersville to Charlotte and unless you have 20 years or more you are S.O.L. And even some of them guys are not gonna make it. Some dont want to open their eyes and see what is really going on. YRC has a plan and they will suceed in it. Unfornately it doesnt benefit us or the Teamsters.

warlock - you act surprised that kernersville is closing...

freight levels have fallen off there twice as fast as anywhere else in the network -

the writing had been on the walls for a few years -

did YOU try to bid on a lateral transfer when you had the opportunity?

most did not - and now they are "out".

ALSO - my comment was about those laid off - not those LOSING their jobs from complete terminal closures.

    big difference.

I worked for these guys in Wilmington, NC for about 7 months in 2006.
When they hired me full time, worked me 60 hrs/week for 30 days, handed me a layoff letter. I played the call in each day game until I was down to working 1 day/week while the other bid guys were working 60 hrs /week.
The union was a joke-I saw the writing on the wall and quit.
I used to work for CF in NY, been through it before.
Now in Wilmington,NC the Roadway terminal closed and it all moved to the Yellow terminal.
I don't see the same Yellow drivers making pickups so they must have dovetailed the seniority lists (AKA-screw the drivers).
Good luck to all of you who have survived this so far....
