My family and I really want to be able to move back home to Oregon from MN. Who are the companies that you would recommend I look at for rookie drivers? I'm asking here because every recruiter I'm listening to reminds me of a carpetbagger.

    My concerns:

    Safety safety safety!
OTR - at least 2500/wk on average
2-3 weeks out at a time
    Good dispatchers
    Minimal political BS
Good equipment (don't need the fanciest, just safe and reliable)

Pay is NOT the most important thing to me.

    May Trucking?
    Gordon Trucking?
    Schneider?
    Knight?

Rookie drivers are somewhat limited in their choices, and their choices are for the most part all on an even keel as far as a negatives/positives consideration. There is no way to go into one thinking you're going to get significantly more miles than with another, regardless what a recruiter might say. With all there will be good weeks and bad weeks but being open to staying out 2-3 weeks gives you a decent chance at getting a good start in the career.

The other points you mention are a crap shoot wherever you go but all offer as decent equipment as you'll find going into a training carrier.
