More than a third of driver applicants demand to work illegally, CTA survey finds - Truck News
Surprised it isn't higher. This is the way of the future. The government seems to have no desire to crack down on this.

Had a driver years ago ask me about how much MB paid but he lost interest when I told him you couldn't be incorporated. Then they want the government to do something for them when they get ripped off. Can't have it both ways.

Unfortunately immigrants are not told upon arrival ,,these are the rules! TAXES, Laws are to be obeyed! Assimilate!
Too many are just here to milk our system and not contribute to our great country. Winnipeg has got to have a 100 of these flybynight trucking companies who hire incorporated drivers. Canada Revenue Service stated 2 years ago they estimate 56,000 truck drivers working under the Driver Inc system and not paying any taxes. CRS does not have the staff to chase them all down.
Just dont do business with East Asians…there is no shortage of incidents and complaints of people being scammed by these people in the moving industry as well as home improvements. Also be advised if a contractor is not insured and his employer is injured working on your property you are liable.
It’s not just the East Asians,,how bout the great deal on a in frame from shadetree mechanic,,saved your self $10K WOOHOO! and then it throws a rod 2 weeks down the road. No problem for shadetree dude, there is no warranty.Last edited: Apr 24, 2025

I absolutely despise the driver inc model. It's unfortunate that 90% of trucking companies in the GTA run this model. These clowns don't realize that's whats keeping the #### wages down. They also pay cash or on other people's incorporation at reduced pay.
The whole system is ####ed up and no politician ever does anything about it. They make some noise and then it disappears. In my experience, only the bigger trucking companies pay on payroll, atleast in the GTA.
Trucking is cooked nowadays, I wouldn't recommend any new driver get into it. There was once upon a time where you could make money, not anymore. Work any other warehouse job and you could probably make the same or more with a bit of overtime.
Gta hourly rates on indeed 22-25 an hour
Long haul rates 55-60 cpm and these things haven't changed much since I started in 2017.
Hell I do uber on my days off and make $200-250 in 10 hours, I drive an EV and only spend $10 on charging. Some nights I make more.'88K100, D.Tibbitt and BigHossVolvo Thank this. -
