Is what it is and im ok with a slow walk as one of my Bronx cornhusker pals used to say .
Some people can't wait to pay off a carrier purchase and pull the lease .
Not me ...I enjoy the security I have at Morehouse and how im treated .
My truck will say Morehouse on it long after its paid for unless something changes .Broke Down 69, drvrtech77, tony97905 and 4 others Thank this. -
In this industry, it seems that the “grass is always greener over there” mentality is very strong. No one seems to stop and take a moment and ask why the grass looks greener, could be over the septic tank.
One thing is very true about this business, relationships.
Company or O/O the relationships you build and maintain with everyone from dispatch to broker, shipper, receiver and everyone else. I read on this forum about people who trash brokers for various reasons. Low rates, slow replys all sorts of things. I tend to think these people are just loudmouths spewing trash, that they really don’t do what they are saying. Now here is the thing, I have never had the problems some of these people describe. Even with new brokers. Most of the time, they are calling me, looking to put freight on. Some times I could help, others no, maybe next time. Always get top rates. Then the relationships and reputation pays dividends.
Company, O/O or L/P, if the company treats you with respect as a human, and you return the courtesy, life can be quite good. A solid reputation with people can and will lead to quality loads, rates. This has advantages.Broke Down 69, Vic Firth, Shock Therapy and 3 others Thank this. -
Just called it a day at the old giant travel plaza at gallop nm ...haven't stopped here since the early 90s and i gotta say its still a nice place even tho its a flying j now .
I'm thinking the refiners must be switching over to un blended fuel cause I'm back up to high 6s and low 7s again .

Never was a terrible place. A little beat maybe. I tend to think the food was better back in its Bosselman days.
Just a short ride east, to the Rt 66 hotel and casino. The key here is the rewards card. Need that to get that for half price buffet and other perks. The buffet is really good. You can eat yourself into a coma.Last edited: Mar 10, 2018
