Ok I’m having somebody do the swap for me but I need to know if I’m getting the correct info. Truck is Pete 389 and I’m going from an Isx to a Detroit, besides motor and having the harness re-done what else is it going to take to make it work? I was told a control pack at the sum of 13k and misc stuff.
Motor swap, ISX to Detroit. What is needed to make it work?

Motor mounts, radiator mounts, possible different radiator, fan shroud, possible re-route of air lines, fuel lines, steering linkage, and who knows what else. Budget for at least 40% more than the estimate. IMHO
Caterpillar Cowboy Thanks this. -
pretty much a straight bolt in just need to move some wires around

I’m being quoted around 30 to 35 k for this swap. I knew the harness needed to be done but I don’t know what he’s talking about a control pack.

It’s on a 16 model.

That’s with motor.

Did you get your swap done? If so are you happy with it? I am looking for a reputable shop that does engine swaps. I was hoping you were happy with yours and it was close to Illinois.
