A man is dead after colliding with a semi truck at a high rate of speed in Florida on Monday morning.
The accident happened at around 4:30 a.m. in Hillsborough County, Florida on December 6th.
According to Patch News, the motorist was speeding westbound in the inside lane of Interstate 4 near McIntosh Road when they attempted to change lanes. As the motorist changed lanes, they clipped a moving semi truck traveling in the outside lane and the force of the impact sent the car spinning off the roadway.
The motorist was then ejected from the car. First responders quickly transported the man to a nearby hospital, but the unnamed man soon succumbed to his injuries.
The truck driver was not hurt in the accident.
All lanes of westbound Interstate 4 were shut down as crews worked to clear the wreckage but were reopened by 9 a.m.
