I'm not understanding the parked legally statement. And why the dude pulled off on the shoulder of southbound I-5 to update his logbook.

If he hadn't stopped. The car would still be alive. MAYBE. Obviously he was distracted.

Some interstate highways have pull off areas or shoulders for trucks to legally park (PA Turnpike and parts of I-80 in Wyoming to name a couple) and that may have been the case here. Either way the motorist earned a Darwin Award.

That ball of metal used to be a Kia Rio subcompact car.

As Im Not a big fan of "Shoulder" Parking to update things or whatever..But He was legal. Theres Nothing Further to Investigate Here, Car Not Paying Attention and Payed the Ultimate Price.

Nothing Further to even Discuss...Other Than Maybe WHY couldn't the Truck Find a Rest Area or Truckstop, BECAUSE its a PIA at Night to Find Comfortable Parking- Ahh The Whole Motoring World is a Mess- No room Anywhere-

We cant even Keep up with our roads- Too Many Motorists

Sure, there's places to park. But that shoulder don't look like a good place to park. You can see the line and it's just wide enough to fit the truck. And he's still in the population zone. A long way from the sticks.

Google isn't really showing any safe place to be parking between S.R 18 and the scale.

And still, updating the logbook? Was he making sure his ducks were lined up for the scale?
