Hi all! Have any of you done this? We were wondering how he brings his truck to the US? Does he have to import it or just bring his ownership papers to his new company in the US and get new plates there?
Thanks!

If moving to the U.S. permanently, then the proper process would be to import it into the U.S.
Chickadee Thanks this. -
You need to contact a broker. Pretty sure you will need to import it.

Funny anecdote about this...it wasn't a truck but my car..
When I executed my visa to move to the US from Canada I had all the paperwork I was told I needed well ahead of time. Letter from GM stating it meets guidelines (HAHAHAHAHAHA sorry but Canada guidelines way more stringent than US so had to laugh) and my customs papers etc. Crossing the border, they had NO idea what to do with it. They checked around for someone who did and no one had a clue. Eventually they said just go, contact a customs office for information when you get a chance. About 22 days later my wife wrapped the car around a tree in a snow storm. Insurance paid off the loss so I never did end up actually importing the vehicle.
Now with a CMV, I'm sure there's a whole different strategy at play here. Just thought I'd share.

Permanent Resident status ain't what it used to be.......and it's probably going to get worse.

But it's hard being married and living in separate countries. . I'll be happy when it's all behind us and we can move on with our lives.
