Was a lesson learned for sure. Was back in 2021 when it happened, and was a very expensive night at the 280 scale in Rock Island when it scaled 36,500 on the drives. 900 dollars and a safety bonus gone to pay for the help moving honey barrels

Not to bad, I’ll never ##### about a load again, because they game me a 200 miler that delivers in Waterloo on Monday so here I sit doing a 34. Hometime scheduled for Friday and I’m from northeast PA.

Cmon now, driver. Even though there are thousands of companies operating profitably off purely the spot market, your planner should not have to get creative and put in effort to keep you rolling and happy. They should just select something off the contracted load list and make you face all consequences for free

How silly of me. Thank you for reminding me.
I actually thought about coming to your company.
Hoping my home daily know where I’m parking the truck know where I’m sleeping and know if the shower and toilet at home has been cleaned job hourly works out. But your places br on my list of seems decent jobs.

Friend, Lonesome, Speedy356 and 2 others Thank this.

Hopefully so. Home daily and hourly sounds a lot less stressful. I occasionally have moments of clarity where I realize that company driving OTR is a dead end road that will only result in years of my life donated to trucking company profits, but then I see the Buy 2, get 1 free Red Bull sign glowing in the coolers, and I go back to denial as I hear air horns blow outside my sleeper window at 3am.

Seriously though, hope the new gig works out for ya. Schuster will always be here if you ever get bored and wanna hit the road for a year or two though. Probably no one’s dream retirement job here, but there will be a paycheck and miles here for a couple years when any competent driver needs lol

Yeah, that’s probably on my sort of gripe list here. 50/50 shot whether they run you decently well the week leading up to home or if you have a dead week of twiddling thumbs beforehand. Only reason I don’t mind is cause I’ve been home early a few times, but never late
