My 4 Month Review of Schuster

Thanks. C’mon man your forgetting the bogo on roller grill items and the competition in the crapper of who had more roller grill items sounds and smells. Lol.
I realized pretty quick that drivers donate their time to charity unless it’s otr or one of a few that pays for all time. Yeah schuster would be on my list along with BLT transport. Long coast to coast runs. Ive been out a week since home time and have barely got 1400 miles. Doubt I’ll hit 2k by Thursday or Friday. Hoping my place isn’t trying to leave me with nobody check. I gave a 2 week notice cause I respect the tm. Learning why older drivers say just quit. Getting jerked around. Oh well may just shorten that time frame up from 4/5 days to 1-2 lol. This is my second time leaving for the same reasons as 1st. I’m an idiot lol. Safe travels to you my friend. Hopefully traffic will be light sun at back and wind too. And good tunes all the time.

 

Honestly local work is stressful in a lot of way. Yes it’s usually hourly, but if you’re sharing trucks, it can be a grind getting back in time for the next guy to do his day. Then if your truck partner likes to dick around and not show up on time, it just adds to the stress

 

Amen to that, last time I got home Two days early and I’ve never been late getting home.

 

I did local work for a few months your right it is. Even with assigned trucks I’ve noticed that if someone else’s goes down and your there it’s getting put to work by the driver who’s truck is down. I think different strokes for different folks but don’t know what one likes till they try it.

 

I’ve lived by that motto for quite awhile when it comes to trucking. I’m local because I have a wife and 3 little kids that I want to be home for. But it’s definitely a grind most days.

 

Doesn't your company have some sort of owners responsibility paperwork on file? When I was working in Southern California before I retired, my company had paperwork from the state saying that they accept all responsibility for weight, loading, mechanical and registration.

 

Got my load home. Two dropper one in Ohio and final stop near Allentown. Got home a day early so can’t complain about that. Going fishing up the st Lawrence River so I’ll check back in once I’m back on the road.

 

I will be taking some extended home. Home on 06/04 and leaving back out 06/16 after running 7weeks. I like that they let me park the truck at home during this time because I’ve heard some companies will make ya park the truck at the terminal for extended home time breaks.

I’m glad they worked with me and let me take a vacation. Probaly what I enjoy most about working here. It’s pretty laid back. Do your job and no one bothers you. Communicate and they will work with you within reason. No routing, no fuel stops, no ########. No calling dispatch to ask if you can PC. You’re treated like a professional here. And all you need is six months experience to apply. Ya can’t beat that.

 

Schuster is on my short list (and honestly they have been for awhile) if things ever go south where I'm at now. I've looked at other companies in the area and there's not a whole lot of good around. The fact that they have regional customers close to where I live is a huge plus
