The only yard with facilities. There’s a drop lot in South Sioux City that we use all the time, but it’s just a fenced gravel lot.

There’s apparently a drop lot in Omaha too, but I think they just lease a few spot there and I haven’t personally been to it

A bit underwhelming, but we were pretty far ahead in the CPM battle with a lot of the companies in the region a couple years back. I’m guessing Crete constantly spamming drivers with recruiting texts about their recent raise got the wheels spinning at Schuster.

Will never complain about a raise though. Any extra money is a good thing

Yeah that's kinda what I thought too but in terms of pay , bonuses and benefits we were pretty well payed to start with , the freight market is just starting to rebound from the covid hangover of everybody buying a truck and crashing rates .
I sold my 7th truck 3 years ago as the sky's were growing dark and glad i did !
I can understand the reluctance to go whole hog on pay this early .
I live just across the river from omaha and nobody around here is going to war over driver pay yet ...i was at Morehouse quite a while and as far as I know they are about 10 cpm behind us and they're insurance sucks .
Shusters raise my be a bit lame at least they are watching the market .

Agreed for sure. I’m not sure if the trucking market will ever return to complete normalcy after the disaster following the COVID boom, but nice to see improvements.

And yeah, it’s certainly not bad pay by any means. And a 1cpm raise translates to 1000-1400 per year for all of us, which isn’t anything to scoff at. Covers my car insurance.

Glad to see fuel price hikes have stagnated and the market returning to normalcy. Should make for a decent year for freight and miles. I’m on better pace this year than last year by a pretty good chunk

I was nearly at the top pay rate, so glad to have a couple extra cpm of growth if I’m still at Schuster in a couple years

something, the president of Shaffer was telling a couple of us drivers recently in the cafeteria at Lincoln is that this Supreme Court ruling regarding the brokers now can be financially liable for these carriers that are shady that are crashing into people and killing people. A lot of these brokers are going to have a hard time trying to find people to haul their Freight so their customers will turn to a lot of these bigger carriers to move in and take up a lot of this Freight, which is good for us drivers… so like carriers Shaffer, Schuster etc are in obvious good position to do so.
