Any 2009 tractor, any brand is going to have 1st generation emission equipment on it. All of the manufacturers were still learning at the time on the customers dime.
The newer the tractor, the more reliable the emissions systems become. Not perfect by any means, but better.
See if you can get into a 2016 or newer, preferably not a trade from a mega carrier. Work with a dealer you intend to develop a relationship with and let a salesman locate the best candidate.
If you could swing new that would be even better.

@Tug Toy had to make the same decision. Maybe he’ll share his thoughts.

What is the issue with the current truck? If the thing is paid off it might be a toss up. You will know the current truck has a solid rebuilt.

I like new Kenworth T680’s with the X15 Cummins engine. Bought one last December and no problems so far. Have another coming in 2 weeks with the Endurant auto trans. That’ll be interesting. So I’ve been very pleased with the new Cummins engine.

Demo’d a new International LT with their new A26 and auto trans. The mpg is impressive but low on power for pulling hills. Rides rougher then the KW but overall a nice truck.

No idea on any of the other combinations. I stay away from the Paccar engine because it limits the amount of places they can be worked on.
