Ehh. Abandoned trucks are the worst. I've seen some nasty ### trucks.
Mine was freshly A and B serviced And reconditioned.
We do have to purchase them. Well more like a deposit taken out over a few weeks. We get it back if we leave and turn them in.
They did ask us if we minded riding with another driver if need be. But I believe most of us that had to go elsewhere to pick up our trucks received rental cars.

    Thank you

Yeah, I guess it was more like a deposit for me as well, but I did get a brand new kingpin lock but was reimbursed for a used one, even tho I did not use it at all.

Just thought I'd say hi to some other Crete drivers.
You can look at my comments on the other Crete thread. Yup... did walk out. Going back.
Have to admit. This business owner I'm doing working for before going back. Making it tough to go back. Great situation. But I know I can't make what I make at Crete. Especially with all the benefits. And management did admit to me that I did nothing wrong. Was all their fault, my leaving.
On the locks.... I kept mine. That is a good kingpin lock. I use it. The padlock is real good too. Discourages BillyBob from even thinking about it.
I do want to say. NorthPlatte seriously has it's act together. Great Operations. That is also much of why I'm going back. Good place to work.
Also want to add. In two years, I've had 6 jobs. This is the best. Have two at one time right now.

The trailer door and kingpin locks use a common key, so they are really a single unit cost-wise. That's why you only get part of the kingpin price back even if you turn in back in unused.

That does appear to be a key that is hard to pick.
Mechanic said these aren't for graphite. Want to lubricate. Use WD40 or some kind of spray lube.
I have found it's taking some time to smooth out the operation of both. Kinda rough operation at first.

I'm not sure how things work at crete but I've seen other drivers on different threads make that same reference to reefer operations being a lot of night running. I've personally not had that same experience. We run whenever where i work. Even when i was solo with our reefers i ran mostly days an took breaks at night. Of course the schedule would float a little depending on deliver appts. Now my wife an i run team an just run day an night both till we get there when they have team work for us to do.

Hey Plains. They benefits, from what I've looked over are pretty good. The free life Insurance is more than most others. I had just started looking into life insurance after deciding to come back over the road. I like the idea behind the enforcer lock but it's such a pain in the ### to get on and off some days. Really need to redesign it.

What division and area are you going to run?

Spent the night at the New Kingston terminal Friday night. Free coffee, Free food and best of all A free shower!! They have 2 showers for women and 2 for men. About the same as a truck stop shower but maybe a little cleaner.

Got up around 4am searched for an empty refer trailer and only found 1 on the lot. I did start it and and left it running just in case. Got to the shack and he had me set it at 55* and turn it off. Easy check in with a quick inspection. Dropped in the spot they told me, went to the shipping office and got my paperwork and trailer assignment. Headed down the road to a weigh station. Almost had it. Drives were over by 500. 1 quick slide and we're good to go.

I knew the timing had to be on in order to get home. My main concern was 95 after NYC. It actually wasn't to bad except for 2 spots they had the right lane closed. 3+ miles of horrendous driving by others and that was it. Stopped for a ""30"" min"" ;-) at the TA in Willington CT. Dropped the trailer up the road at a drop yard. They're were no empties so the deal was to bobtail home. It's weird because I's much rather be pulling a trailer than bobtailing.. Got back and shut down around 5pm. Doing a 34 and headed out on my next Mission.

Picking up in Skowhegan, Maine. The load is headed to Lincoln, Nebraska. The deal is, as my asset manager told me, They may have me take it all the way or they may have me T-call it on the way. They won't know till sometime Monday morning after they get together and figure out how to get me on the account I'm supposed to be on..

Side note: My wife has finally read my Eastern Freight ways blog and this one. I didn't say anything bad about her did I? LOL just kidding.. Till tomorrow
