Crete is one of the better megas, but it's still a mega. They pay a bit better than most megas, but their trucks aren't as nice. No APU (opti-idle for sleeper cooling, Espar heater for sleeper heat.) No power door locks. No adjustable 5th wheel. They now offer power inverters in all their new trucks, and they can install a decent fridge but it will cost you.

Just moved from Freightliner to Kenworth...it has no opti-idle and is 1000 pounds lighter..also has electric door locks, built in fridge , hands free bluetooth hookups , microwave cabinet...but has less storage and shelves...rides much better than the Freightliner

    Farmerbob1 and O.Henry Thank this.

No opti-idle? Does it have an APU, or the extra battery and refrigerant gizmo that failed so badly with the Internationals?

Man, I thought Crete had learned by now that nobody worth a #### is using those things for a reason. Hope it doesn't break down on you too often.

So far it runs the heat at 72 degrees and 12volt outlets all night...without auto starting the truck...to charge batteries

    Farmerbob1 Thanks this.

Well, I hope it keeps working for you. My first truck with Crete was a International ProStar with a MaxxForce engine and a battery pack sleeper A/C system. It was a nightmare that lasted 3 days from when it was issued to me in Wilmer, TX, until I dropped it in the Marietta yard with a list of 11 major problems. One of them was that the sleeper gizmo didn't work at all, which was likely related to the 5 other major electrical faults I described.

That's when they moved me to the truck I now own.

Reason for edit: Maxxforce engine, not Prostar. Got my names mixed up.

I know with the International, you can put something on the throttle to hold it down, then start the truck, and it stays running.

    Rugerfan and Farmerbob1 Thank this.

I did that with the Freightliner...put dumbbell on accelerator...then start truck..it would idle forever

I had a T680 with a different company that would idle indefinitely if you set the trailer brakes but NOT the tractor brakes.
