Solo trucks are Volvo 630 single bunks. Lots of room, I can stand all the way and I'm 6-0'. Trainers have 670s and teams have 780s. You'll slip seat until there is a bid for unassigned trucks (at least in CA). No table to bed conversion in mine, but there is a slide out desk.

Training pay is $500/wk for inexperienced, $1000/wk for experience. Training time depends on experience and how fast you learn the freight. Pay after depends on how fast you pick it up. The more freight you throw the more you make.J-money Thanks this.
Have been following this thread and am interested in DOT. I live near their Liverpool, NY terminal.
A theme I see with a lot of other companies is a lot of sitting and waiting for load assignments, chasing MT's that the companies do not see to know where they are and unreasonable delays at shippers / receivers because you are waiting on them to load/unload your trailer. Off hand it seems that the loading / unloading issue is minimized at DOT because the driver is involved in some or all of it...?
How is DOT with regards to those issues?
DOT is a food redistribution company and is not a 3rd party freight hauler. We own the freight we move so the only waiting you will usually do is at shippers or for paperwork. Customer delivery drivers break down the freight to customer specs and are responsible for inventory. Some customers are STC, some count on pallet, some break down.
We don't "chase empties" because we don't leave trailers at customers, its always live load or unload. You are home a minimum of weekly if not more and down time on your runs is minimal unless you get ahead of schedule.
I pulled this off a link to their website, no mention of breakdown pay, a good question though......it also does not mention that they hire students....
