Statement on Workplace Discrimination and Injury

I was hired in April 2023, but from the very beginning, I was set up for failure. I was assigned a trainer who was allegedly paid under the table to create false narratives about my performance, claiming I didn’t have what it takes to work there. As a result, I was wrongfully terminated.

It wasn’t until the corporate HR manager reviewed the video evidence and confirmed I was telling the truth that I was reinstated. This alone was a clear case of wrongful termination and could have warranted legal action. Despite these challenges, I returned to work and performed my duties for over a year until I suffered a life-altering injury on the job.

On June 26, 2024, I was nearly killed when a fuel hose struck my face and left eye, resulting in a severe concussion and permanent vision damage. I now require prescription glasses due to this injury, and my life has been significantly impacted. Although this incident was captured on video, the company claims the footage has mysteriously disappeared—a highly suspicious and convenient development.

Since the injury, the company has engaged in the following actions to undermine me and avoid accountability:

1. Denial of Medical Treatment: They have repeatedly blocked neurologist appointments necessary for my recovery, likely because independent doctors would confirm the severity of my condition.


2. Manipulated Medical Opinions: They have relied on biased doctors who appears to have been influenced by the company to downplay my injuries. They even sent a company representative to ensure these outcomes before my appointments.


3. Withholding Benefits: The company has refused to reimburse me for essential medical expenses, including eye medications, as part of a broader effort to financially starve me and force me to drop my case.


4. Suppression of Evidence: The video footage of my injury has conveniently gone missing. This footage is crucial evidence that proves the extent of my injuries and the unsafe working conditions.


5. Discrediting Independent Medical Reports: They are actively trying to block my neurologist's and eye doctor’s reports, which confirm my ongoing concussion symptoms and vision loss.


6. Hiding Eye Doctor Results: My eye doctor documented that I had 20/20 vision before the injury, but I now suffer from permanent vision impairment. The company is suppressing these findings to avoid accountability.



This company has a long history of mistreating and exploiting employees of color. They overwork employees, underpay them, and look for excuses to withhold bonuses. When someone like me gets seriously injured, their default assumption is fraud, rather than taking responsibility for their negligence.

When I was cleared to return to work, they refused to let me come back and instead offered a lowball settlement that insulted both me and my lawyer.

Thankfully, there are honest medical professionals who cannot be bought. I’m hopeful that surgery will restore my vision, but the damage this company has caused to my health, livelihood, and dignity is immeasurable.

This is yet another example of a company run by individuals who exploit, oppress, and devalue people of color. Their actions reveal who they truly are.
